Swiss citizenship is a basic requirement to take part in a Swiss Armed Forces peacekeeping mission. Individuals without Swiss citizenship cannot be considered for a Swiss Armed Forces peacekeeping mission.

Peacekeeping missions through the Swiss Armed Forces are military operations. Due to the military requirements for male Swiss citizens, only male Swiss citizens who have completed basic training can be considered for a military peacekeeping operation.
